Rev. James H. Lane
Pastor Lane has been preaching at Trinity Temple Church for 45 years. He has dedicated his life to teaching the Word and helping those in need.
Rev. James H. Lane was born on September 10, 1924, in McKenzie, Tennessee to Leon and Vera Lane. His father was a Baptist preacher. Pastor Lane was the only son and he had one sister, Elizabeth.
Around August, 1942 when he was not quite 18, he joined the United States Army. After six weeks of basic training, he served in the European Theater of Operations with the 5th Infantry Division and fought in all of the five major battles of World War II under the command of "Old Blood and Guts" General George C. Patton. Pastor Lane was a Corporal in the Army. During the war he lived under an overturned jeep for three days with the enemy all around him. He received the Purple Heart for injuries received during the war. He was also commended for services beyond the call of duty twice and was presented with two Bronze Stars. After WWII was over he was honorably discharged from the Army in October of 1945.
On February 16, 1946, at the age of 21, he married Helen A. Kindle. They had three children, all girls. The first, Teresa Ann, was born on October 16, 1947 three and a half years later, on March 29, 1951, Vicky Yvonne was born. Then almost seventeen years later, Jamescena Hope was born on March 1, 1968. Pastor and Sister Lane now have 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
One of the greatest moments of his life happened in 1950, when Pastor Lane met the greatest friend he has ever had, Jesus Christ. Since accepting Jesus as his Lord and Saviour, his whole life has been directed by God. In 1952, he pastored his first church in Odenton, Maryland where he had to start the church over seven times as his congregation were service men and the Army Base kept moving them to other locations. However, he was privileged to have established a thriving church that still speaks out to all the service men and women who come to Fort Meade, Maryland.
In 1957, he was ordained and served as District Pastor and Youth Director. God began to move once again and although many things began to happen which he did not understand, he only had to wait for God to open doors and show him all that was in store. In 1962, after many disturbing events and with God's direction, he founded Trinity Temple, where he is the Pastor to this day. In 1964, Pastor Lane received his Doctorate from the American School of the Bible.
During his many years as Pastor of Trinity Temple, he has served as Chaplain to many organizations including the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Kiwanis Club, the Masonic Lodge, the Auxiliary Police where is was commissioned as a Captain, the Baltimore County Police Department, the Baltimore County Fire Department, the United States Air Force C.A.P. where he was also commissioned as Captain, and many, many others. He has served as Associate Guardian of Job's Daughters and has, also, been active in the DeMolay. He has also been very successful in his Prison Ministry, seeing many won to the Lord Jesus Christ.
During the floods of Hurricane Agnes in 1972, Rev. Lane was commended for outstanding help and service to all who he came in contact with during that time. Pastor Lane reached thousands of people through his radio broadcasts called Voice of Deliverance whose theme song was "It Is No Secret"and the Dial-For-Life, telephone message service, and also through a small newspaper.
In 1979, he was nominated by the Eastern Burglary Squad of the Baltimore County Police Department, and received the Channel 13 Salute.

In 1982, Pastor Lane(Auxiliary Captain) received a Certificate of Commendation from the Baltimore County Auxiliary Police Department. Pastor Lane has received numerous Letters and Certificates of Commendation from various organizations.
He has traveled to many countries preaching the Word of God and winning souls for the Lord.
Pastor Lane will be celebrating his 88thrd birthday on September 10, 2012 and is still conducting worship services at Trinity Temple every Sunday and Wednesday and is still VERY active in our community. He visits with people in nursing homes and the hospital. He travels from state to state, any place he is needed and for whatever the reason. One day he could be in Virginia and the next he could possibly be on his way to South Carolina. Every where he goes he teaches the Word and the way to salvation through Jesus Christ.
